Call for Workshop Proposals

IEEE SmartGridComm’12 will feature advanced workshops on November 5th 2012. These workshops are aimed at exploring in depth special topics and providing international forums in the area of Smart Grid Communications for scientists, engineers, and users to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results. The proceedings of the workshop program will be published by IEEE Communications Society and IEEE Digital Library.

Required information in the proposal (up to 5 pages):
  • Title of the workshop
  • Workshop length (Half-day/Full-day)
  • Full contact of workshop organizers
  • A short Bio (up to 200 words) of workshop organizers
  • Draft call for papers
  • A tentative list of TPC members
  • A plan for the workshop format, including the expected number of submitted/accepted papers, papers sessions, keynotes, panels, etc.
  • If already available, the workshop website address
  • If appropriate, a description of the history of the workshop, including the number of submitted/accepted papers, the number of attendees, the format, etc.
  • If the same (or similar) workshop was held in the past IEEE conferences, what was the number of participants in each time?

Important dates

Workshop Proposal Due: March 1, 2012 (extended to March 15, 2012)
Workshop Notification: March 10, 2012 (extended to March 18, 2012)
Release of Workshop Call for Paper: March 20, 2012
Workshop Paper Submission Deadline: June 15, 2012
Workshop Author Notification: August 15, 2012
Workshop Camera-ready: September 1, 2012

All proposals are required to be submitted in PDF format via email to the workshop co-chairs. Only complete proposals with all required information will be considered. Once a proposal is accepted, we will work with the organizer(s) on a contract, which defines the remuneration, copyright, cancellation policy, and so on.
